From 2004 to today ...
From 2012 to today, a growing market share was aimed at acquiring photovoltaic plants already in place, rather than developing projects from scratch.
From 2004 to 2012 the Italian market was characterized by the development of large photovoltaic projects.
Before the liberalization decree of March 2012 forbade the incentive of land-based plants on agricultural land, a multitude of large ground-based projects followed one another riding on the possibility of obtaining generous incentives.
Up to that time the number of large ground-based plants, photovoltaic power plants, has literally exploded (even "on the wave of speculation"), especially in southern Italy, where agricultural land costs were low and photovoltaic productivity was maximal.
From 2012 to today, however, the Italian photovoltaic market has seen several phenomena of acquisition of large photovoltaic plants.
Today many investors prefer to directly acquire a plant already in operation, rather than commissioning the construction from scratch, "turnkey".
This is how a new slice of the photovoltaic market is emerging: that of the secondary market of photovoltaic systems.

Today the market is again changing course, thanks to the sharp decline in the costs of realizing photovoltaic systems and increasing the efficiency of the technology that constitutes it.
So: we start to record interesting phenomena of development of large plants at the expense of the purchase of plants already built and connected to the national electricity grid.
The greatest interest in such solutions can be traced back to the very high purchase price
of such plants with little profit margin from large investors.
Therefore, large investors are turning to the market for the development of photovoltaic systems, leaving the "development risk" of the system
charged to the developers: the so-called. EPC Contractor and System Integrators.
